W. L. Hall Company, McKEON Door & Gensler team up to elevate the security of a highly prominent building in Minneapolis, MN
Gensler, a leading architectural firm in the region, approached W. L. Hall Company & McKEON Door with a request to enhance the security of a high-profile building in Minneapolis, MN. To meet this requirement, W. L. Hall Company collaborated with Gensler Architects and Mortenson Construction to identify a suitable security door solution from McKEON.
Given W. L. Hall Company and McKEON's proven track record in implementing wide-span security safeguards, McKEON emerged as the obvious choice for this intricate and challenging project.
Detailing this massive project was challenging due to the compressed soffit and componential curtainwall. In addition, we had to create customized motor designs and unique details to address the security requirements of this highly distinguished building while maintaining its aesthetics.
In the end, we installed eleven assemblies resistant to both tornadoes and hurricanes to prevent any external penetration of the building.
