Skyfold Acoustic Vertical Folding Retractable Walls for Minnesota State Offices

Is Skyfold the "Unofficial" Operable Wall of the State of MN?

OK, there hasn't been an official vote, and we are not saying its achieved "Loon-like" status as a state symbol but we have recently completed two successful projects for the State of MN using the Skyfold Autolift Operable Wall System.

We worked alongside BTR Architects (Minneapolis) and Reiling Construction (St. Paul) to install two Skyfold Classic 55 Walls at the Minnesota Department of Administration Procurement Building at 50 Sherburne Ave in St. Paul.

The Skyfold Classic 55 was the perfect addition to their conference room, making space optimization seamless! Whether they need one large room for big meetings or two or three smaller spaces for breakout sessions, this system does it all—plus, with an impressive STC rating of 55, it keeps noise at bay and focus front and center.

We collaborated with Klein McCarthy Architects (St. Louis Park, MN) and Reiling Construction to install a Skyfold Classic 51 and a Modernfold Acousti-Seal 931 at the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) headquarters in St. Paul.

Combining Skyfold and Modernfold offers the BCA enhanced versatility and flexibility, enabling various room configurations while maintaining excellent acoustic control.

Operable walls have transformed from functional dividers into aesthetic enhancers of the built environment. On this recent project, we helped the architect balance the need for space flexibility with the desire for the look of a more "permanent" solution. Glass panels with false muntins offer the best of both worlds— the look of a fixed demountable system with the flexibility of operable wall systems.
