Enhancing Performance & Appearance at the Wayzata Public Schools Central Services Facility
We were honored to play a role in the modernization of the Wayzata Public Schools Central Services Facility, helping revitalize the building’s exterior with updated glazing systems designed to enhance appearance, performance, durability, and long-term functionality.
We collaborated with the project teams at ZMD Engineered Solutions (Osseo) and CM Construction (Burnsville) to help bring their design vision for the facility to life.
Our team replaced aging exterior framing systems and entrances with modern, high-performance glazing solutions that aligned with the facility’s broader renovation efforts, including new siding and roofing upgrades.

Our scope included:
Replacement of the exterior framing system on the entrance side of the building
Removal and replacement of existing hollow metal frames, doors, and glass
Installation of new curtainwall and entrance systems
Coordination and integration with adjacent exterior building envelope improvements
Systems & Products Installed:
- Tubelite T400 Curtainwall Systems
- Tubelite Standard Wide Stile Doors
- Oldcastle high-performance glazing systems
These updated systems provided the facility with a cleaner, more modern appearance while improving daylighting, durability, weather performance, and long-term maintainability.
Collaboration & Coordination Challenges
While the project itself was a modernization effort, the success of the installation depended heavily on detailed preplanning and close coordination between trades. One of the key challenges involved sequencing and coordinating our glazing systems with the adjacent metal panel installation.
Our team worked proactively with the metal panel contractor early in the process to help develop metal trim details that would allow both systems to integrate smoothly, regardless of installation sequence. By thinking through these details well in advance, we helped eliminate potential field conflicts and created flexibility for installation scheduling.
