This impressive Kalwall canopy came from our successful collaboration with Plunkett Raysich Architects (Milwaukee) and Riley Construction (Kenosha, WI), which brought their design to life and stands as a testament to innovation and teamwork.

One of our most interesting design challenges was the station's entrance. The owner had a bold vision: they wanted the stone cladding on the first column to be rotated 45 degrees outward, creating a striking and dynamic focal point to welcome visitors.

Structures Unlimited stepped in with a custom-fabricated column to bring this vision to life, precisely engineered to fit seamlessly within the cladding's unique footprint. The result? It is a visually appealing entrance that balances form and function, setting the tone for the modern and welcoming space inside.

This police station is a statement of the community's commitment to safety and design excellence.

Kalwall canopies provide benefits that cater to architectural aesthetics and functional requirements.

Natural Daylighting - Kalwall canopies maximize light transmission by allowing soft, diffused daylight to filter through, reducing the need for artificial lighting. This creates a naturally lit environment with even illumination, free of harsh glare and hot spots.

Weather Protection - Kalwall panels are engineered for excellent weather resistance and are designed to withstand heavy rain, snow, and strong winds. They provide durable shelter for entrances and outdoor spaces while offering UV resistance for long-term protection against sun damage and fading.

Design assistance - Many architects don't realize that Kalwall and Structures Unlimited can offer turnkey structural design and fabrication for the entire canopy structure. If designing a unique canopy element is not in your budget, let Structures Unlimited do it free of charge!

If you're planning a canopy project, we're happy to provide insights and tailored recommendations to help ensure your project's success.

Due to our "challenging" winter weather conditions, building maintenance professionals frequently schedule glass atrium and curtainwall repair initiatives when spring arrives. Among our current projects in this category are the 1550 Utica Avenue Tower (St. Louis Park), Glass Atrium Roof rehabilitation, and the restoration of curtainwall components at Reflections Condominiums (Bloomington).

Crowe Construction (St. Louis Park) contacted us about replacing the skylights at Artistry on 10th, a modern luxury apartment complex. The existing skylights were extremely leaky, aesthetically unappealing, had poor opacity, and failed to meet current-day structural requirements. They allowed minimal natural light to enter the space, provided little comfort or functionality, and were energy inefficient.

OK, we admit it's not exactly an Oscar. When Accenture needed a smartly designed space that allowed natural light to flow through while ensuring the right level of visual and acoustic privacy they turned to Modernfold.
