The renovation aimed to achieve several goals, including restoring the original classic architecture, designing an interior that is spacious and flooded with natural light to showcase views of the campus and surrounding countryside, and integrating energy-efficient windows, some of which were custom-built to match the building's original design.

We enjoyed collaborating with St. Olaf College, Boldt & Perkins+Will on this rewarding project!

“The renovation has made Holland Hall a beautiful gateway to the college for those who enter it from the community. The re-imagined Holland Hall is a light-filled, collaborative, balanced, and adaptable learning environment that inspires students, faculty, and staff to forward the scholarly enterprise for years to come. The renovation of this unique campus treasure revitalizes the iconic character and authenticity of the building while providing for learning spaces and technology of the future."

Operable walls have transformed from functional dividers into aesthetic enhancers of the built environment. On this recent project, we helped the architect balance the need for space flexibility with the desire for the look of a more "permanent" solution. Glass panels with false muntins offer the best of both worlds— the look of a fixed demountable system with the flexibility of operable wall systems.

Among our current projects in this category are the 1550 Utica Avenue Tower (St. Louis Park), Glass Atrium Roof rehabilitation, and the restoration of curtainwall components at Reflections Condominiums (Bloomington).

Crowe Construction (St. Louis Park) contacted us about replacing the skylights at Artistry on 10th, a modern luxury apartment complex. The existing skylights were extremely leaky, aesthetically unappealing, had poor opacity, and failed to meet current-day structural requirements. They allowed minimal natural light to enter the space, provided little comfort or functionality, and were energy inefficient.
