Women in Construction Week March 6th - March 12th 2022

The week (March 6th - March 12th, 2022) is observed to appreciate the women who have taken the bold step to enter the construction industry and encourage those willing to make similar commitments. The history of Women in Construction Week is linked with that of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) founded in 1953.

NAWIC offers its members education, support, and networking to help advance their careers in construction, build their technical skills, and become leaders. This week is a time to highlight women's significant initiatives and work within the industry and bring to light opportunities available to women in construction.

Women in Construction Week inspires many companies to showcase the work of women who work in construction and strengthen and amplify women's success in the industry, help women wrap their minds around working in a nontraditional field and train them to excel in those careers.

This week assists the NAWIC champion women to impact the construction industry's direction and provide education, community, and advocacy, helping to see more women in leadership and mentorship roles.

Crowe Construction (St. Louis Park) contacted us about replacing the skylights at Artistry on 10th, a modern luxury apartment complex. The existing skylights were extremely leaky, aesthetically unappealing, had poor opacity, and failed to meet current-day structural requirements. They allowed minimal natural light to enter the space, provided little comfort or functionality, and were energy inefficient.

OK, we admit it's not exactly an Oscar. When Accenture needed a smartly designed space that allowed natural light to flow through while ensuring the right level of visual and acoustic privacy they turned to Modernfold.
