The Mall of America (MOA) in Bloomington, MN, is one of the top tourist destinations in the country, with 520 retail stores attracting more than 40 million visitors annually. MOA also has unique dining and entertainment options with over 50 restaurants & many attractions, including the nation's largest indoor theme park.
The Ghermezian family (MOA's owners) and Triple Five Corporation (the family's real estate development and construction company) were looking to install a new daylighting skylight system on the west section to replace the small 8' x 8' acrylic skylights to enhance and brighten the MOA visitor's experience by allowing natural light deep into spaces.
We always enjoy discussing projects with architects and contractors and were pleased teaming up with the DLR Group (Minneapolis, MN | Architect) and Mortenson (Golden Valley, MN | Contractor) to install an aesthetically pleasing custom Super Sky 450’ continuous glass vault skylight to add much needed daylight to the space.
